Sustainability practices
In July 2021, Turkey released a Green Deal Action Plan that includes 32 objectives and 81 actions in 9 categories to power Turkey’s transition to a more sustainable, greener economy in line with the goal of making Europe the first climate-neutral continent by 2050. Textile is one of the key sectors that will deliver these green practices.
In parallel, The Ministry of Trade has got a subsidy program in place reimbursing the investments that serve the global competitiveness of Turkish manufacturers. Applying for certifications such as BSCI, GOTS, Oeko-Tex, GRS, FSC, The Woolmark Company, is hence encouraged by the state itself.

Member of the
EU Customs Union
Since 1995, Turkey has been a member state of the EU Customs Union. Currently, Turkey is the 6th largest trading partner of Europe and both parties can enjoy a trade relationship without customs duty.
Basically, this means that sourcing from Turkey is not any different than sourcing from any other EU country in terms of customs.
